One thing I didn't get to do while dans le sud was to go scavenging for les champignons. When we were in Chitown I had all the stuff to go out and pluck stuff up and see if it were edible: spore paper and field guide. But never did it. I should try here. I am sure VA has tons of edibles.

i thought about that when i stopped mowing the lawn and started making these snaps but while i will wander out on lake and ocean ice and head out onteh gulf of st lawrence in a small boat, i won't pick wild mushrooms.

You can take heart in the fact that only a few of them would kill you.

ah the joys of near suburban life, we get enough scowls from the fact that we don't nuke the lawn and have more creeping charlie than grass in some places.

a least we don't wash the street the way the neighbour across the circle does.

those with the perfect lawns in the circle wish we didn't leave the little forest on the land we bought with all those trees on it.

funny also out wandering on the rock when i see fruit growing, bake apples, partrigeberries, blueberries and raspberries, i don't think twice. i spot where i am and snack away and when full pick some to take back.
